What are YOU Craving for this Summer?
So this post is very different than my usual. I wanted to put out, something different. With summer being here in Arizona, like full force, I've been dreaming of an adventure. Like most of you out there we all have jobs, with annoyingly enough, limited vacation days. Ha!
Lately, I've been feeling a little caged and under stimulated. I feel like I'm looking for something, but I don't know what it is. I've been dreaming of what it would be like to live in a different land, spent traveling and working on enjoying what I do have and not what I don't. I feel in this day, with social media, it's very hard for some people, or maybe it's just me, to stop wanting. I want a bigger house, I want a child, I want to be planning extravagant dinner parties, I want to have the energy to work out every single day, I want the newest collection from Valentino and it goes on and on and on. That's not necessarily a bad thing, but there comes a point when you're like will anything ever be enough?
So I started reading again instead of scrolling through Facebook, since that was my quickest solution to being uninspired. In under a month, I've already read two books and am a quarter of the way through my third. The first two were very suspenseful and maybe a little unsettling. But as I am making my way through the third book, Z: A Novel of Zelda Fitzgerald, I'm starting to get a little inspired, and a little hopeful of what is yet to come.
It's kind of funny, how you might me going through something and you come across a passage in a book and it just totally screams out to you. Like, "Hey, you're not the only person in the world going through this!" I remember when I was younger I use to read, Chicken Soup for the Soul. I loved those books. I think it's so important that we feed our soul with good healthy things, not just our mouths and eyes. So I challenge you to pick up a book this summer and start a different kind of journey. Hopefully, you will be inspired to do something different.
